The Clal-Chk model stands 40mm to the eye and should be ready for pre-order in a couple of weeks. The troglodyte will stand 25mm to the eye and will come in numerous poses, with different weapon options. The sculpting is coming along well and models should be ready in July. Cavalry on giant monitor lizards are forthcoming, as well as savage hunting beasts and handlers and other creatures from the shadowy realm.
The Kalath Project is finally done after all this time since the concept art was completed. The beast is available for $44.99 and is entirely cast in resin. The base is 50x100mm and fits on wargaming bases. Some more concept art is also working its way to miniature form, the latest being a priestess of the ancients. She is casting an energy blast up from the ground (not shown) and is being sculpted by Sandra Garrity.
Painted versions of Thorval Firehammer and Koth-Yan, the elephantine beastman, have been completed now. Both models are available as part of the diorama "Springing the Trap" or separately. The links page has also been updated with new retailers and distributors, including Warpath Games and the Little Shop of Magic.
A few updates of note. All of the new miniatures are now shipping, including the Outlaw Queen and Lizardman Champion, joining the Witch Queen and Lizardman Lord. The painted version of the witch queen is done and can be seen below. There were also some price adjustments for many of the older miniatures to account for manufacturing costs.
The castings for the bloated lizardman champion are done and will be shipping out next week along with the Outlaw Queen. The Lizardman Champion retails for $9.99 USD.
The production casting are almost done. In the meantime, the painted version is now completed. The fat lizardman champion is delayed until February.
The summary of new pre-orders are shown below with their respective dates for approximate shipping. Also, a new bit of concept art came in from Kennon James. This big brawl will be a multi-part diorama. Click for a larger view.

This new model was sculpted by Sandra Garrity from artwork by Brian Babendererde at twilighttangents.com. The green is going to casting for release in January. The miniature stands 35mm at the eye and comes in two parts. Pre-orders will begin at a price of $9.99 USD.
Some new concept art for has come in from the talented hands of Kennon James. This brute is Clal-chk, Bounty Hunter of the Sunless Forest, and will be sculpted soon.
The lord of the lizardmen is now ready to cast and lay waste to the invaders of his jungle home. This miniature was sculpted by Eric Louchard and.stands 50mm from the back foot to the eye, but 54mm if you count the base. It is about 20% larger than the lizardman warriors, which makes sense since he is their leader and just a big bad lizard. The base is separate and fits on a 25mm square plastic wargaming base. It is all parted and stuck together for these photos, so it is ready for casting. The estimated availability is January. Pre-orders will start soon at an estimated price of $16.99 USD.
This model was sculpted by Sandra Garrity from artwork by Brian Babendererde at twilighttangents.com and is going to casting along with the bloated lizardman champion. The witch queen stands 32mm at the eye and comes in four parts. Look for more miniatures based of Brian's work soon.
This hero is on his way to being done. The figure is roughly the same height as the other lizardmen (35mm) although more muscular and leaping up so he looks closer to 40mm. The armor is parts of turtle-shell and he will have a big round hoplite-style shield with a mosaic pattern and stone axe and spear options. One big difference compared to the others will be feathers on some areas. This is the first of the Dragonblood minis that is all by Eric (me) as opposed to a conversion or base.
A new lizardman champion is on his way to lead the warriors into battle, and maybe pick up a snack along the way. I sculpted this one to look like his gullet and belly is engorged with some poor adventurer, while he drags a net full of heads and fish to keep him going for later. This model is about ready to cast and should be coming out next month. The miniature stands 35mm to the top of the head from the feet and comes in three parts (body, spear, javelins).
The three-pack of lizardmen warriors is available now, for the price of $13.49 USD in the Dragonblood Store. Group deals for pre-orders are finished but may appear again later. A new set of lizardmen warriors is in the works and should be coming out in the next month. Edit * price is now $16.99
The long awaited model of Kalath the Reaver, a massive draconid commander riding an armored triceratops, is ready for orders. This piece is cast entirely in resin and stands 100mm from the back foot of the triceratops to the axe handle - see the shot below for a size comparison. The base, a ruined ancient stairway, is 100mm long and 50mm wide. Kalath retails for $44.99 USD and can be ordered from the online store.
A three-pack of lizardmen warriors is casting and ready for pre-order, shipping by mid-September. These miniatures come with a spear and stone axe option, as well as a separate rocky base that fits onto 25mm square wargaming bases and into the depression of 30mm round bases. The miniatures stand approximately 35mm at the top of the skull.
The set of three sells for $13.49 USD. A wargaming unit of fifteen is priced at $49.99 USD and an RPG unit of nine sells for $34.99
USD. Pre-orders can be placed from this ordering
page.
The long awaited model of Kalath the Reaver is close to completion. This piece is close to 80mm from the back foot of the triceratops to the axe handle and will come with a display base with "cut-ins" to make a diorama with other Dragonblood figures. It is planned to have the beast and base cast in resin and the rider in metal. There is still some work to be done on the base and in various places on the figures but it is getting close. On another note, a set of new lizardmen soldiers (spear and axe options) have been sent off for casting. All of the new miniatures should be available in time for Gencon Indy, August 16-19, where Dragonblood miniatures will be sold at the Fantization booth.
Our shipping for the last few months has been put artificially low as an incentive for buyers. We are now moving back to charging postal cost the actually covers postage (international postage especially). The shipping rates have been changed to use the USPS shipping calculator based on the weight of miniatures and also includes a small amount for packaging and handling costs. To ease the pain to those used to the earlier flat rates we are offering 10% off all orders above $50 for the next few months.
The new diorama "Springing the Trap" is now cast and ready for sale from this page. The idea of the scene is that the beastman has fallen for a trap and smashed a straw-man decoy, giving the dwarf a nice easy shot. The full set retails for $24.99 and comes with the dwarf, elephant beastman and resin scenic bases. The miniatures are also available separately without the diorama bases.
Thorval Firehammer, a dwarven mercenary lighting his repeating matchlock with a burning stogie, comes with a slotted resin base and retails for $4.99 USD.
Koth-Yan, the elephantine beastman, is a resin piece standing 54mm tall at the head, and comes with a large resin base with ruined door, a metal flail and metal horns. This figure retails for $11.99 USD.
Dragonblood Miniatures will be sold at Geocon Socal in Anaheim at the booth of Fantization.com from November 16-20. There will be painted versions of the models for display and for sale as well. Pre-painted models will also be sold from this site soon, done by artists working for the Dragonfire Studio. Prices for pre-painted figures will be roughly two to three times the retail cost of the unpainted models. Collector-quality models can be commissioned for an additional price.
The display base for the diorama, "Springing the trap" is now completed and looks more like to the original drawing. There is now a wooden sword next to the decoy to make it a little clearer what was happening and the parts are all shifted around. Both of the bases of the figures are removable from the diorama, and the figures themselves have labs or pins on the bottom so they can be put on totally different bases. All of the scenery and bases will be cast in resin to reduce weight and price. The target price is $24.99 for the whole set. Figures will be made available for purchase separately once the whole diorama is ready. It is being sent to casting now and should be ready by the end of November.
A couple of sneak peeks of greens sculpted by the great Bob Olley, based on my sketch from a while back (7/24/06). I will be sculpting scenic bases made for them that will attach into the larger wall structure of the diorama. There is still more work to be done but hopefully these will be ready in the next month. Some design notes - the fill on the big chain is thin and we are working on making it able to be cut out when the figure is cast. Also, the scene is basically an ambush, where the dwarf set a trap with a straw dummy that is currently squashed under the ball and chain. Now he is lighting his matchlock with his stogie to finish the job. The original sketch (from 2005) of the scene is here. Unfortunately for me a few other elephant headed guys appeared on the market since then, so I changed the scene a bit to have more of a storyline.
The new customizable 30mm female elven warrior is coming out soon, and the first painted version is now completed. This is one of the variations that can be made as the figure comes with multiple weapon and head options. Production casting is starting up and pre-orders will start shortly. The set of one model will retail for at $5.99 USD. A double-team is $7.99 USD. (update) Kylien is available now and can be purchased from the site here.
The new diorama, "Fall of the Citadel" is painted up now and in the process of casting for production. It should be ready by late August. This 30mm diorama has an elven warrior astride an armored griffon attacking a pair of knight who dutifully guard what is left of their crumbling citadel. The base of the griffon fits in a 50mm square and has three jigsaw style slots for the knights' bases so the diorama can be customized for display or separated apart for gaming. The full set is available for pre-order at the price of $29.99 USD.
This new knight model is designed for the upcoming "Fall of the Citadel" diorama with the armored griffon rider but can also be used separately for gaming. The figure has a slot-tab on the bottom that fits into the main base and comes with parts to make a greatsword or broadsword-wielding knight. The visor is separate and can be attached in a raised or lowered position. Production casting of the knight will begin shortly. A single model with all parts is available for pre-order at $5.99 USD. A two-knight team is $7.99 USD (updated).
The master casts multiple figures are now in, including the new customizable knight and armored griffon rider, used for a new battle scene. It is an update of the original Griffon Attack but with a new resin base that fits within a 50mm square, and resin wings to reduce weight. The base has slots for three miniatures but the basic set will come with two knights. Estimated retail price is $29.99 USD.
The concept drawing is one I originally did a year ago but revamped with some new ideas, including the dwarf adventurer with matchlock. The squashed guy is a straw man decoy so there is a little twist to the scene. The plan is to make an alternate ogre head to give the piece some customizability.
Specials and group deals.
Eric, 7/17/2006
Special deals for groups of miniatures are now available for certain figures. This month there are specials on units of five Red Draconid Lords, and units of ten Princesses of the Evening Star. Both units are $29.99 USD and can be ordered from this site. Follow the link here for more information.
Reduced shipping rates.
Eric, 6/20/2006
Not major news but I decided to put the worldwide shipping rates for orders from this site at $2 USD for single characters and smaller monsters, and $4 USD for all big pieces and dioramas. A mixed order of big dioramas and other small figures is $6 USD. The new rates simplify ordering and give a nice price break for those wanting only one miniature and a bigger break when getting a whole bunch.
New green of female elven warrior and knight.
Eric, 6/01/2006
A new green just came in from Sandra Garrity, a multi-part customizable female elven warrior. There are multiple arm and weapon options, including a spear, sword, shield and off-hand dagger, and a helmed and flowing hair head choice. The base is compatible with the griffon and other upcoming monsters to make a diorama. The parts are going off to cast and should be ready for pre-order soon.
Also coming through from Sandra are a couple of conversions including a customizable knight and an elf riding an armored griffon, although photos of the griffon rider are going to have to wait as I'd like to paint it up before taking some pics. The knight has a slotta base with rocks on top that slides into the main base. The figure includes a greatsword, broadsword, shield arm, and shield to put on the back. He also has a visor that is separate and can be put up or down.
The newest half dragon figure, the Red Draconid Lord sculpted by Jeff Grace, is now ready for and priced at $7.99. This miniature comes with an optional sword for his left hand as well as the standard shield for a little bit of customizability.
The figure stands 30mm at the top of the head and 40mm at the top of the wings, but is crouching down after swinging a sword. If standing tall he would be roughly 40mm high, so he is not a small beast. The blue version below is on a 25mm warhammer base. As always, the painted models were done by Eric Louchard.

No more extra parts if they are not needed and you get the figure you want for a lower price - $4.99 USD.
February release
- Princess of the Evening Star.
Eric,
2/02/2006
The newest release is a diorama with a wild-haired princess and her six-legged panther. The bases of all of the figures, including the flaming brazier, are separate and jigsaw together so the figures can be used in gaming or for other dioramas. The full set is now ready for pre-order and is priced at $11.99 USD. The girl and panther beast are also available for pre-order separately for $4.99 USD and $6.99 USD respectively.
New figures are coming in for all those concept sketches. The first is a customizable wizard, Luthor Firebrand, sculpted by Sandra Garrity and standing 32mm from the feet to his head. There are two versions, a young wizard and an older archmage, that come come complete with part sprues with multiple heads, staves, and other items. They also have bases that are compatible with the Desert Griffon, allowing one to make new battle scenes or dioramas. Pre-orders are beginning soon, for both versions. The young version ($9.99) will be available mid-December and the archmage ($9.99) will be out in late December/early January. Shipping is free for pre-orders from this site.
The next figure coming down the pike is the Red Draconid Lord, sculpted by Jeff Grace. This figure is close to 45mm in height and comes with different weapon and shield options. The base is also compatible with the Desert Griffon. The green is going to the casters and should be ready by January.
update - the final version will be ready in March. A new concept drawing was added below to show a more dynamic view.
Also, the pre-orders of the Hunter are on their way and should be there shortly. Thanks to everyone who waited so patiently.
Concept artwork for Griffon Rider
Eric, 09/12/2005
This is a conversion of the desert griffon into a jungle griffon with an elven rider. It will have the same base as the other griffon though so it can be used in the same diorama if desired. Now the knight will really be in trouble.
There are going to be a few new releases this winter including elves, wizards, and amazon-type humans. The big plan though is for the half-dragon soldiers and salamanders. The figures will have optional weapons for all figures and make the bases have similar jigsaw shapes so they can fit in dioramas with the larger pieces like the griffon.
New Dragonblood Web Design!
Eric,
08/16/2005
The new site is coming along and will have a good deal of new functionality when it is completed. The main and most obvious change is in the graphic design, which has been completely overhauled. Hopefully you all will find it more appealing than the plain version that was up before.
In a couple of days I will be flying out to Gencon to meet and greet. I'll be sitting at the Fantization booth and much Dragonblood merchandise will be on the racks. Thanks Steve at Fantization for giving me the workspace!
