The young man then went through the barrier and entered the wheat field. Luckily, there was no one in sight, so the young man started walking back toward civilization.

As he walked, Erik thought about the barrier, he just found out that there was a very big hole in it, and he wondered how it was possible that the militaries didn't find out.

Aside from that, he was conflicted since, on the one hand, he could make use of it by killing more low-leveled thaids, which would obviously put his life in danger but also grant him access to additional abilities.

On the other hand, if too many thaids found out about it, a disaster could possibly occur inside the city, leading to multiple people's death.

"You know what? Screw them... I got bullied, beaten, and made fun of for my entire life. If they die, they die. I don't give a **..."

Erik kept walking through the golden wheat field until he arrived on the unpaved road.

"I'm finally here."

On his way to Mister Fox's farm, Erik took his time to look at his status.

He had five attribute points available now, but he didn't know what to spend them on. If he improved his strength, his muscles would improve, making him stronger and faster.

If he improved dexterity, he would be more agile, and his eye-hand coordination would improve. It would be useful for his training since it would make it easier for him to replicate the moves from the videos he downloaded.

Energy would increase his health and his mana, which he desperately needed since he had a low amount, to begin with.

Intelligence would make him smarter, and able to memorize things more easily, but since he had the biological supercomputer, he could store as much information as he wanted inside his brain.

Choosing intelligence was a matter of how much it would make him smarter. He had to try it to figure it out. Since he didn't need intelligence now, he decided to split his points into Energy, Dexterity, and Strength so that he would be faster, more agile, and stronger when facing the thaids outside of the barrier.

He did so by increasing Dexterity and Strength by two points and Energy by one point.

Erik then finally arrived at Mister Fox's farm. As usual, he saw him tending to the field and waved to him. The man returned the gesture and shouted, "You took your time, uh?"

"Good morning, Mister Fox," Erik replied with a tint of sarcasm.

The farmer stopped working for a moment and turned around towards him, looking down on him curiously. "You look different today... Happier..."

Erik nodded. "Yeah, I didn't tell you this, but I'm an awakener..."

"You are what?"

"An awakener..." Erik replied.

"Are you kidding me? You, an awakener?"

"Is it so hard to believe it?"

"It's not like that..." Mister Fox looked at Erik apologetically.

"So, did the militaries come to you already?"

"Yeah, I got my power tested yesterday," Erik said.

"What were the results?"

"ESIGMA1D"

"Only E on Ferebitz? Didn't you say that you awakened? They usually got more jumps..."

"Yeah, I know, I was unlucky from this point of view, but hey, I got a D-ranked power on Jorm; it's not that bad. By establishing more neural links, I don't think I will have problems in terms of mana."

"If you say so," Mister Fox said. "What is your power anyway?" He asked.

"I can make everything sharp..."

"That's pretty useful... Do you mind showing it to me?"

"Of course."

Erik then picked up a tree branch from the tree he conjured the other day and used his power to sharpen it; he then swung it at Mister Fox's fence, leaving a small gash on it.

"That's cool. I'm happy for you, kiddo."

"Thanks," Erik replied.

"All right now, better start working. Don't you have to go back to school at eighteen?" Mister Fox Asked.

"I do."

Erik and Mister Fox worked on the field for several hours until it was time for the young man to go back to school. Mister Fox paid the young man, and then Erik left the farm, heading back to school.Vissit nvelbin(.)cm for ew ovels

The young man arrived at the train station; he sat as usual near the window and looked at the scenery change, transitioning from fields and farms to the city's landscape.

After he got back to the western district, Erik returned to school. As he arrived, he saw multiple people training their physical abilities and powers or spending time with friends at the school's clubs.

Erik then headed to the gym, and he met Nathaniel and his friends on his way there. Erik didn't say anything to him. He knew Nathaniel was not the most pleasant person to be around, and he didn't want another person harassing him for no reason.

Nathaniel gave a quick look at the young man when they passed each other but kept walking without saying a word.

When Erik reached the gym, he walked into the changing rooms, where he put on his training clothes. As he arrived inside the hall, he saw Floyd, Amber, and Gwen. Amber actually waved at him and beckoned him to come closer to her.

"Hi, Erik!" She said.

"Hi, Amber!"

The young man was a little bit confused by the young girl's behavior. He wasn't used to such treatment, and it actually made him feel a little bit uncomfortable.

Still, it was nice to have someone not making fun of him once in a while. The two chatted a little bit, Erik smiled the whole time, but they were then interrupted by professor McAllister.

"Are you done?" he asked. "Good, because we have to start our usual training," the teacher said. "Erik, as usual, you will train with me. The others already know what to do. Don't forget to spar once you are done with your exercises."

"Yes, sir," they said in unison.

Then the students started their training routine. Erik did the same, and once an hour passed, he heard the usual notification ring in his mind.
